Our Commitment
Unified Care Programming LLC is committed to ensuring that the UCP Platform website (the "Site") is accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards, as well as applicable requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Current Accessibility Features
The Site currently includes the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML: Proper use of headings, landmarks (
<nav>,<main>,<header>,<footer>), and form labels throughout the site - Skip navigation: A "Skip to main content" link allows keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation elements
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements — including navigation menus, forms, buttons, and video modals — are fully operable via keyboard. The mobile menu and video player modal close on Escape key.
- Focus management: Visible focus indicators (ring style) on all interactive elements including buttons, links, inputs, selects, and textareas. Video modals trap focus and restore it to the trigger element on close.
- Screen reader support: ARIA roles and properties are used throughout, including
aria-labelon navigation landmarks,aria-expandedon mobile menu toggle,aria-current="page"for active navigation links,role="dialog"witharia-modalon video modals, role="menubar"androle="menuitem"for navigation, andaria-hiddenon decorative icons - Form accessibility: All form inputs in the support ticket form and login form are programmatically associated with their labels via
htmlForattributes. Autocomplete attributes are set for login fields. - Error identification: Form validation errors are announced to assistive technologies via
role="alert"on both the support ticket form and login form - Color contrast: Text meets WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios. Brand color (#042a35) and accent color (rgb(43, 64, 125)) provide strong contrast against white backgrounds.
- Reduced motion: All animations and transitions are disabled when the user's operating system preference is set to reduce motion (
prefers-reduced-motion: reduce) - Responsive design: The Site adapts to all screen sizes with a mobile-first approach and supports browser zoom up to 200%
- Video accessibility: Demo and training videos include standard player controls. Video modals include proper dialog semantics, keyboard dismiss, and focus management.
- External link indicators: Links that open in new tabs (Staff Login) include a visual icon and screen-reader-only text indicating the link opens in a new tab
